At max, the charge can take about three hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again, this will depend on the type of charger that you use. If your charger is a heavy-duty type, you\u2019ll have a shorter charging time compared to lightweight chargers. This is convenient, considering that you&#8217;ll want to <a href=\"https:\/\/golfcartgo.com\/golf-cart-troubleshooting-and-maintenance-checklist\/\">keep your battery running<\/a> for as long as you can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re using an older battery charger, then you&#8217;ll have to unplug it so it doesn&#8217;t overheat the batteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Extending the Life of Your Battery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a rule, you should always charge your battery after each use so that it&#8217;s ready for your next trip. It&#8217;s good to get in the habit of plugging it in once you&#8217;ve parked it for the day. This will subject the battery to a depth of discharge between 75% to 80%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Long Does a 48-Volt Golf Cart Last on One Charge?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The one thing to keep in mind is that a 48-volt golf cart can last twice as long compared to a battery on a 36-volt <a href=\"https:\/\/golfcartgo.com\">golf cart.<\/a> This, of course, is based on just one full charge. Also, keep in mind that the higher the voltage, the less time it will take to charge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before we go any further, you\u2019ll need to know that your battery system does not consist of one battery; it consists of a series of batteries each ranging from 6 to 12 volts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an example, six 8-volt batteries will give you a 48-volt battery system. The same can be said if you have four 12-volt batteries. A fully charged battery will last you a good 20 to 25 miles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the Average Lifespan of a Golf Cart Battery?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another question that needs to be asked is when it will be time to get a new battery. Once again, the answer is \u201cIt depends.\u201d One major factor is the brand of battery that you use. Some will have a shorter life span compared to other brands. One thing to remember, the cheaper the battery, the shorter it will last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So you\u2019ll need to invest in a battery that has the best lifespan possible if your budget allows it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trojan is considered one of the best brands for <a href=\"https:\/\/golfcartgo.com\/ultimate-guide-golf-cart-battery-troubleshooting-and-maintenance\/\">golf cart batteries and has low maintenance<\/a>. Their average lifespan lasts anywhere between 7 to 9 years. However, this comes at a price. A set of six Trojan batteries will be priced around $750 a set, compared to cheaper brands like Sam\u2019s Club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The battery will likely last anywhere between 1 to 3 years. Yet, if you want to equal one set of Trojan batteries, you\u2019ll need to buy up to 4 sets of Sam\u2019s Club batteries. That will set you back at just north of $1,200. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for a happy medium in terms\nof finances and battery life, you can depend on a brand like Interstate\nBatteries or US Battery to serve you in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Last thing about Batteries&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on the battery\u2019s condition, it should not take a ridiculous amount of time to charge a battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another thing to keep in mind is that it also depends on the type of battery charger you are using.
