Do Golf Clubs Fit in a BMW Z4? Trunk Specifications
The BMW Z4 line has been around since 2002 and continues to be popular to this day.
The 2022 “Facelift” model—the G29 Z4—is expected to arrive in late 2022, between October to December. It’s the perfect time to look into previous Z4 models to see how it compare with the new one.
I could talk about the BMW Z4 all day; it’s one of my favorite “budget-friendly” sports cars, after all—up there with the Audi TT Roadster. But I’m not here to gush about the Z4’s road performance; I’m here to talk about its trunk space.
We golfers are always a bit wary of convertibles regarding trunk space. Most of them don’t fit a set of clubs, much less a standard golf bag. I’m glad to report that you won’t have that issue with the BMW Z4.
It doesn’t offer the biggest boot space—not by a long shot—but it’s big enough to fit in not one but two fully equipped golf bags. You won’t even have to put the driver in the front seat like the Mazda Miata.
The BMW Z4 has a trunk space of 9.9 cubic feet, larger than that of a Porsche Turbo S, an Audi R8 Spyder, and a Porsche Boxster. This means that it’ll easily carry up to two carry-on golf bags with a bit of extra space left for other golfing equipment, like a golf trolley (so long as it’s folded).
YouTuber andmak24 demonstrated how perfect the BMW Z4 E85 can be.
In the video, he managed to fit two stand bags and two Big Max Blade trolleys into the trunk of his Z4 E85. He was also able to put in his drivers and hybrids without needing to squeeze them in.
This shows that the BMW Z4 has much more space than you may have initially thought. It can fit two or even three sets of golf clubs without the bag or two sets with the bag.

What Types of Golf Bags Fit a BMW Z4?
Golf bags come in many types. Some are designed for casual golfers with built-in stands, while others are made for professionals with a ton of pocket and storage space. They differ not only in purpose but also in size.
If you’re a professional golfer, you probably won’t find the BMW Z4’s trunk space too agreeable. This is especially true if you’re carrying staff bags.
Aside from being exceptionally expensive, staff bags are the largest and heaviest of all golf bags.
They offer considerable storage space for all your golfing needs and weigh between 25 to 50 pounds.
For this reason, staff bags are for players with someone else to carry their stuff for them (or those who own a golf cart).
Don’t get me wrong; staff bags can fit the trunk of a BMW Z4.
However, it’ll be an incredibly tight fit. You’ll have to angle the bag diagonally and manipulate the club drivers for them to fit. Also, you can only put one staff bag at a time.
On the other hand, regular golf bags, like stand bags, carry-on bags, and cart bags, fit a BMW Z4 perfectly. You can only put two bags at a time and still have to remove the drivers from the clubs, but they’ll fit like a glove back there.

Do my golf clubs fit in my car?
Despite the size of your car, there’s a way for your golf clubs to fit into it. If your car is extra small, put your golf clubs at the back of your passenger seat. The only problem with this setup is that you’d have to give up one passenger.

Final Thoughts
The BMW Z4 excels in almost every category. It has a sleek and expensive trim, powerful torque options and horsepower, advanced control systems, and decent trunk storage. To top it off, it comes at a reasonable entry-level price!
The Z4 doesn’t have the largest storage option, but it can comfortably fit up to three sets of golf clubs or two golf bags without forcing them in. It can also fit a single staff bag, though it’ll be tight.
So if you’re a casual golfer, you won’t be disappointed with the Z4’s trunk capacity.
